Sermon: Jesus the Finisher
Scripture: Hebrews 12:1-2 NKJV

”Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.“
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Look: look and keep on looking; a continual and ongoing process; observe, discern, and perceive…

Three things happen when we fix our eyes on Jesus:

”Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us… Hebrews 12:1

1. The weight that drags us down is removed.
2. Sin loses its dominion over us.
3. We run the race of faith with endurance.

CONCLUSION: Finished faith is developed through continually focusing on Jesus.
