Jesus: The Human - Archie Callahan

Series: Jesus
Sermon: Jesus the Human
Scripture: Luke 2:30-33 (NIV) & Hebrews 2:14a (TPT)

But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. 31 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.”

Since all his “children” have flesh and blood, so Jesus became human to fully identify with us.

Tagline: The same yesterday, today, and forever.

INTRODUCTION: The world is losing its senses, because it is losing its sense of what it means to be human. -Lenard Sweet

Jesus Understands:

Family Dynamics... (Mark 3:20-21)

"Then Jesus entered a house, and again a crowd gathered, so that he and his disciples were not even able to eat. 21When his family heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.”"

Emotional Pain... (Isaiah 53:3-4)

He was despised and rejected by mankind... (Vs. 3)

Surely he took up our pain and bore our sufferings... (Vs. 4)

CONCLUSION: Jesus sits on a throne of grace so that we can stand by grace in this life.
