Sermon: MOVING FROM VICTIM TO VICTOR!
Scripture: 2 Samuel 8:1; 15
In the course of time, David defeated the Philistines and subdued them, and he took Metheg Ammah from the control of the Philistines. (Vs. 1)
David reigned over all Israel, doing what was just and right for all his people. (Vs. 15)
INTRODUCTION: You don't win the victory in a day but daily you win the victory.
Steps to Victory:
Refuse to avoid the unavoidable.
“The Philistines assembled to fight Israel, with three thousand chariots, six thousand charioteers, and soldiers as numerous as the sand on the seashore.
1 Samuel 13:5 NIV
“In those days the Philistines gathered their forces to fight against Israel.
1 Samuel 28:1 NIV
Remember you're fighting from victory.
“But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
1 Corinthians 15:57 NIV
“and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.”
Ephesians 1:19-21 NIV
Recognize the favor (grace) of God.
“Give us aid against the enemy, for human help is worthless. With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies.”
Psalms 60:11-12 NIV
CONCLUSION: We are more than conquerors through Christ! (Romans 8:37)
