Scripture: Acts 13:36

'“Now when David had served God’s purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep; he was buried with his ancestors and his body decayed.

INTRODUCTION: What does it mean to serve God's purpose in our generation?

But David remained in Jerusalem. 

-2 Samuel 11:1

The woman conceived and sent word to David, saying, "I am pregnant."

2 Samuel 11:5

For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was sapped.

-Psalm 32:4

CONCLUSION: Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
